Yen’s just out here like, you’re acting ugly so I’m gonna call you “my ugly one”, and when you are ready to be a swan, I will stop…and I wish I wasn’t laughing, but it’s so so clear. Also great ode to the books…it’s just so funny that Yen, Geralt and Ciri are not at all ugly in this show, even though they’re described that way in the books…lmao
I got so used to my Yen calling Ciri “my little duck” in other threads, that Yennefer calling her “my ugly one” in this, like she does in the books, threw me all the way off, if I’m honest with you…
I want all the Yen/Ciri interactions, but for that to happen, I need you guys to remember that my Yennefer is canon divergent from Netflix canon in very very big ways. 1) She was blinded like in the books, and never lost her chaos, so her interactions with the Deathless Mother were different, because she was able to get her sight back as it was magically done to her by Fringilla and reversable by a powerful healer. 2) She was STILL coerced by the Deathless Mother, but refused to sacrifice Ciri. Where her betrayal comes in, is that she knew that the Deathless Mother wanted Ciri because she was shown her face, and yet still taught her to portal, still let her portal away from Geralt in a crucial moment when she knew her mind may not be entirely her own, and didn’t realize until it was too late on that last front, that she was falling right into the Deathless Mother’s hands and practically delivering Ciri to her, which was NOT her intention. So yes, she willingly/knowingly put Ciri in danger, but it was not to intentionally sacrifice her for the return of her magic. It was simply making some bad choices and Geralt SHOULD be mad at her. Her slitting her wrists to die for Ciri was her attempt to show that she was ready to rectify her bad decisions, but she is fully aware that Geralt is mad, and that while Ciri seems to understand more because she had to snap her out of it, she knows she has to work for their trust. She did a no-no.
That all being said, please bring on the interactions if you have Ciri to throw at me.
Just so that those who don’t know me enough, know that I will be posting some Witcher Season 3 stuff, but it will all be tagged, and I try to avoid posting gifsets until it has been a week or two, but this time around I’m just gonna tag stuff. Just block the ‘witcher spoilers’ tag of mine if you don’t wanna see stuff. I can’t watch until later because I work today and tomorrow, but spoilers are fiiiiiine. Scream at me if you would like, please. Maybe don’t tell me major spoilers, but trust me, I’m prolly seeing what you wanna yell at me about and I’m okay with that.
She’s had a difficult time sleeping recently. Ever since the Immemorial City. She’s tried, but she’s haunted by thoughts of what’s to come. Everything’s… changed. Graydon’s gone. Airk’s back. The Wyrm is awake and angry. And all of those come with their own consequences. Jade has been around court politics long enough to know that unrest awaits them. Not only awaits them; they carry it home with each step they take.
She sighs, resting her forehead on her fingertips and rubbing her brow. She needs rest. The others will start to notice. But she can’t quiet her mind or quench the need to keep a watchful eye as the others sleep. She hopes their travels will be expedient. Maybe she’ll find rest in the Wildwood. But first, they need to leave the Shattered Sea for good.
Elora still hasn’t felt as though a single thing that she has been feeling has been able to settle. It’s like she’s on fire, and with that feeling she’s also incredibly uneasy about what is to come. She knows what is needed of her, and she’s more CONFIDENT than when they began, but something is wrong…something feels still just beyond her reach, and that terrifies her.
Glancing over at Jade, Elora quietly observes her for just a moment before she began to move. Jade had a time of it too, and there’s just so much UNKNOWN that permeates the air around them. It’s good that Airk is back, but Graydon’s gone now and it feels like part of that is her fault somehow. When they had needed her, perhaps she had succeeded, but she also wished it hadn’t come at such a price.
Flowers and a Spider-Man plushie he’d picked up on his way over. The least he could do after being late was to not come empty handed. “Forgive me?”
Bloom knew he meant well, but she couldn’t help but give him a look as she reached for the flowers. “This is all I get? Flowers? I don’t even get a kiss?”
It was a tease mostly, but seeing as he was in fact late for their date, she thought that the least he could do was kiss her. That would go a long way to forgiving him, even though there wasn’t much to forgive him for. He was always doing things for other people and if he was late, it was because he had to be.
